Welcome to Citrus Virtual School!

We're excited to offer Edgenuity® virtual classes for grades 6 - 12 again this year. Citrus Virtual School served 86 part-time students last year who successfully completed 130 courses. In addition, nearly 300 Citrus County high school students completed a blended learning class during the school day to meet the online learning requirement for high school graduation.

Virtual Edgenuity courses follow the same school calendar as Citrus County's traditional schools. Students may begin coursework on August 13, 2018 and should complete all classes by the last day of the school year, May 30, 2019. Seniors should plan to complete classes at least a week earlier to allow time for Edgenuity's teachers to communicate final grades with the local school.

Edgenuity provides standards-aligned online courses taught by Edgenuity’s highly qualified, state-certified virtual instructors. Direct-instruction videos feature expert, on-screen teachers.

Citrus Virtual School offers Edgenuity courses for initial credit, general and career electives, and world languages.

Edgenuity’s instructors reach out to students via email, phone, and web conferencing to reteach difficult concepts and ensure students are on track for success.

Edgenuity’s core curriculum and instructional model have been reviewed and approved by the NCAA® to ensure student athletes are college ready.

Why choose virtual?

Citrus Virtual School offers courses to all students in grades 6-12 completely free of cost. Students may work from any place, at any time and at an appropriate pace depending on their needs.

Students take courses for credit recovery, to graduate early, to take an advanced class, elective, or world language not offered at the local school, or to meet the online graduation requirement.
